1)  Applicants must meet the qualification as specified in 2005 Khon Kaen University Regulations of Graduate Student Level, Section 5, Article 26.2 or as specified in its latest revised version; and 2) Obtain a Bachelor Degree of Science in Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Biological Science, and/or Biotechnology, or equivalent related programs such as Bachelor of Education with satisfied basic knowledge. For Type A 1, applicants must obtain a minimum 3.00 GPA or at least one peer-reviewed scientific paper published in national journals, or at least three years work experience in research, or admission approval from the Curriculum Administrative Committee; and 3)  Applicants from a country where English is not the first language must enclose English Proficiency test result. The result must not be more than two years. The following English proficiency tests are accepted for graduate admission, and a minimum score should be as follows:    TOEFL (Paper Based) 475 or TOEFL (Computer Based) 152 or TOEFL (Internet Based) 53 or IELTS (Academic Module) 5.0 or TU-GET (1000) 500 or CU-TEP (120) 60 or             Other English language test institute with equivalent standards depends upon the consent of the Curriculum Administrative Committee.

Type 1.1: Hold a Master Degree of Science in Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Biological Science and/or Biotechnology, or equivalent related programs, and obtain a minimum  3.50 GPA or at least one peer-reviewed scientific paper published in national or international journals or at least three years work experience in research or admission approval from the Curriculum Administrative Committee, particularly on research knowledge and skill competency. Type 1.2: Hold a Bachelor Degree of Science in Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Biological Science and/or Biotechnology, or equivalent related programs, and have a minimum  3.00 GPA and at least one peer-reviewed scientific paper published in national or international journals, or admission approval from the Curriculum Administrative Committee. Type 2.1: Hold a Master Degree of Science in Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Biological Science and/or Biotechnology, or equivalent related programs. Type 2.2: Hold a Bachelor Degree of Science in Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Biological Science and/or Biotechnology, or equivalent related programs, and have a minimum 3.00 GPA, or admission approval from the Curriculum Administrative Committee, particularly on research knowledge and skill competency.   Applicant who do not meet the Type 1.1’s requirements above may be eligible to study in the Type 2.1 program, if he/she meets the Type 2.1’s requirements. Similarly, applicant who do not meet the Type 1.2’s requirements may be eligible to study in the Type 2.2 program, if he/she meets the Type 2.2’s requirements. 2) Applicants from a country where English is not the first language must enclose English Proficiency test result. The result must not be more than two years. THE APPLICATION NOTE APPLICATION FORMS: The application forms must be completed in duplicate and returned to the Graduate Office, Faculty of Science, Khon Kaen University (SC-KKU) at the address above. Ensure that all supporting documentation is included with the forms when you submit them otherwise your application cannot be processed. Please note that a letter of endorsement from Curriculum Administrative Committee or Head of the Department of the Graduate Program that YOU wish to apply is required.   REFERENCE FORMS: You require two referees, who must each complete “the reference form” and return to YOU in a sealed envelope. Normally your referees should be college or university lecturers or senior project supervisors who have direct knowledge of your academic work. Applicants with relevant work experience may nominate a person with knowledge of their employment activity to act as one of their referees. Remember that it is YOUR responsibility to obtain your references. The two sealed envelopes containing the ‘reference forms’ must be enclosed with your application forms sent by post to the Graduate Office at SC-KKU.   TRANSCRIPTS: Please include transcripts of your studies (official documents setting out details of subjects studied and grades obtained) with your application. If your official transcript is not in English, an official certified translation should also be provided.   ENGLISH LANGUAGE COMPETENCE: Student whose first language is not English should enclose copies of certificates of their English language qualifications (TOEFL/IELTS). Otherwise, an English Proficiency Test will be required.   OUTCOME OF YOUR APPLICATION: The Program Administrators will consider your application and the Graduate Office at SC-KKU will notify you of their decision within 6 weeks of receipt of your complete application. We will notify you of their decision by e-mail.      NOTE: IF YOUR APPLICATION IS INCOMPLETE (i.e., without reference(s), transcripts or English certificate), ITS CONSIDERATION WILL BE DELAYED UNTIL IT IS COMPLETE.
