KKU applications for 2015 of students from the central region

 

         Khon Kaen University receives applications of 363 students for undergraduate programs

 

          Khon Kaen University receives applications of 363 students for undergraduate programs through direct applications for the academic year 2015. These are students who are currently studying in grade 12 in secondary schools in the central region and the Northeast of Thailand including Bangkok, Chainat, Nakon Nayok, Nakon Pathom, Nontaburi, Pathumthani, Ayuthaya, Lopburi, Samutprakan, Samutsakorn, Samutsongkram, Singburi, Suphanburi, Saraburi, Angthong, Chonburi, Rayong, Chantaburi, Trat, Chacheungsao, Prachinburi and Sra Kaew. This is done to spread the educational opportunities and promote students in other regions to study at Khon Kaen University. In case of students with foreign nationality, they have to stay in Thailand according to law.

          The applications and entrance examination results use standardized measures according to faculty or department requirements and have been announced in advance. In addition, students have to be in a good state of health to study at KKU. This means that people who are not in a sane state of mind are not accepted. Neither are students who have physical limitations which keep them from being able to study at university level (as decided by the applications committee).  Furthermore, students should not suffer from serious chronic disease which are seen by the committee of doctors as limiting to regular education and professional development. And students should not have an addiction to alcohol, drugs, serious heart disease, or unmanageable diabetes, or liver disease which is not treatable or dangerously high blood pressure as well as other diseases which are banned by the committee of doctors. In case an applicant does not fulfill one of the requirements, this person will not be accepted by the application committee to study at Khon Kaen University.

Criteria for applicants which keep them from being selected to study at KKU of three faculties:

Faculty of Medicine

1.       Visual handicaps are at least one of the following

a.       Partial blindness; able to receive light on one side

b.      Impaired vision with a score lower than 6/24 after correction using eye glasses in both eyes.

c.       A score lower than 6/12 of the better eye which cannot be corrected with eye glasses.

d.      Unable to see three dimensional images

2.       Deafness or impaired hearing of sounds exceeding 40 dB due to sensorineural hearing loss. One sided deafness impairs studying and professional development of themselves and others.

3.        Severe colorblindness are a barrier to studying and professional development

 

Faculty of Education

Applicants who are blind (except for the Thai language department) or deaf or bad in hearing will be impaired in learning.

Faculty of Technology

Applicants who are color blind will be impaired in studying and in professional development

Criteria for applications and selection

-           Use of 7 subject composite scores (tested on the 17th and 18th of January) 100%

Application methods at the faculty or departments

1.       Applicants apply through the Internet use the website  http://apply.kku.ac.th from the 25th of February until the 5th of March.

2.       Fill in the information form correctly and fully and applicants can apply at only one department. In case students do not fulfill the requirements or do not fill in the applications correctly, for example if scores are lower than the minimum required by the faculty or department, or did not test all subjects, applicants are not considered for selection and the application is void. After application is completed, check the correctness of it and send in the application.

3.       Print the payment receipt (application fee of 300 baht) and pay the fees through bank transfer or at the Thai Post Office or counter service as stipulated in the payment details. Applicants can check payment at the website :   http://apply.kku.ac.th(after two days from payment).

4.       Print the application form and attach additional documentations and payment receipts and send them to the university or bring them in person. Documents sent to the Academic Development Office signal a completed application.

5.       In case applicants change or alter the choice of faculty / department, application fees have to be paid once more and the receipts have to be faxed to 0-4320-2660, the registration department Khon Kaen University. New applications can be completed following steps 1 until 4 and the old applications will be cancelled.

Documents for application

Applicants have to send the following documents

1.       Application form fully filled in printed from the application system accompanied by a 1-inch photo on which the applicant looks directly at the camera, does not wear a cap or hat, eye glasses, taken within the past 6 months including a signature of the director of the school of the applicant. Only then will the university regard the application as correct.

2.       A copy of payment receipts amounting to 300 baht paid through bank transfer, counter service or post office.

3.       Transcript with education results from Matayom 4 until 6 stating test results from 5 semesters signed by the director of the school or the registrar.

4.       Copy of National Identification Card or house registration of the applicant (signed).

Sending in the application form

Applicants can send in the application form through

1.       Send in through the post office using the EMS service addressed to the Application and Testing Office, Selection and Application Work Group, Registration and Academic Development Division, Pimon Konkit Building, Khon Kaen University, Muang District, Khon Kaen 40002. The documents should have a date stamp from the post office stating that the documents were sent no later than the 13th of March 2015. In case the documents are sent late, the university will void the application.

2.       Bring the documents in person on the date and place indicated by the organization accepting applications and doing the selection, the Selection and Application Work Group, Registration and Academic Development Division, Pimon Konkit Building, Khon Kaen University, Muang District, Khon Kaen 40002 within the period 25th of February until the 5th of March 2015.

Announcements of applicants who passed the selection process and are eligible to come for an interview, health examination.

On the 1st of April 2015 the announcement will be done through the website http://apply.kku.ac.th ,  http://www.kku.ac.th.

Documents which should be presented during the interview and health examination

1.       Personal ID card of the applicant

2.       Student ID card of the applicant

3.       Transcript of testing results showing at least 5 semesters

4.       2 Photographs of 1 inch size

5.       Health certificate (for people who did not undergo health examinations at Sinakarin Hospital).

Interview

         Khon Kaen University will interview applicants as a selection procedure on the 7th of April 2015. The interview will not award points but will consider the applicant for suitability to study at Khon Kaen University and faculties and departments. This selection will use the same criteria as the admission procedure of the University Presidents Council of Thailand.

Applicants who do not attend the interviews cancel the application to Khon Kaen University for 2015.

Physical Examination

1.       Come to pick up a health certificate application form and X-ray image to be filled in by a state hospital or private hospital before the interview day.

2.       Submit a health certificate and X-ray image to the selection committee and interview committee (no need to bring the Xray film)

3.       Applicants who have passed the selection procedure of the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Technology, have to  undergo a full health examination (for more information about the interview view the attached to the application forms)

Announcement of applicants eligible to study at Khon Kaen University

         Khon  Kaen University will announce eligible students who are accepted to study at Khon Kaen University through the direct method for the year 2015 will be done on the 10th of April 2015 through the website http://apply.kku.ac.th

Report by students in person and registration of studentship

1.       Students who have been announced to be accepted as students of Khon Kaen University through the direct application process should report through the website http://apply.kku.ac.th and print the personal report document and pay tuition fees through bank transfer or through the post office (as announced on the announcement of eligible students). In case students do not pay tuition fees on the stated date, the application will be void.

2.       Documents for registration as student are given at the interview venue and date. Other documents as announced are to be submitted during the interview at the Admission Work Group, Department of the Academic Management and Development, Khon Kaen University within the time and place set by  Khon Kaen University (please find more information in the documents from the registration division or though http://apply.kku.ac.th.

Application fees for students

         The announced in the university announcement number 1866/2017 on the 19th of September 2014 on the subject of selection of applicants to study at Khon Kaen University states the conditions of the application process for the academic year 2015.

Conditions for application by students

The conditions for the direct application procedure are as follows:

1.       Applicants who have not sent all documents as required are not considered.

2.       Applicants who report and have paid tuition fees of Khon Kaen University do not have the right to apply at higher education institutions though the admission process of 2015.

3.       The university will evaluate all documents of the applicants who are eligible to attend the university and if it is found that the applicants are accepted but did not complete secondary education as required by the faculty/department.

4.       The university will not accept students after it is found that the applicant does not fulfill the requirements. Application fees are not refunded, not even if tuition fees have been paid.

5.       Applicants who have paid the tuition fees do not have the right to apply at a higher education institution through the admission procedure f 2015.

6.       Applicants who have reported to the registrar and have paid tuition fees at Khon Kaen University do not have the right to apply at a higher education institution through the admission procedure f 2015.

7.       The university will evaluate the applications of the direct admission method and if it is fond that applicants have not completed secondary education as required by the faculty/department, the university will cancel the application. And if it is found that applicants do not fulfill the requirements as required by the university will void the application and paid fees are not reimbursed. Not even when tuition fees have been paid.
